Quilting with Mimi

Okay, because I don't have enough started (the most recent being my blocks, which I am going to make into a quilt for a very good friend that I've known since we were 3 or 4; and my sneak preview, which I really need to finish; not to mention the 250 sachets that I need to sew out of tulle and have finished by Monday for Renaissance Day at the Middle School - which I have not started), I decided to sew along with Mimi and Monica of The Happy Zombie. This is what I came up with.I'm not sure if I'll sew them together this way. I'm not sure what I'm going to make with it either. But it sure is cute. I have some more squares to sew up, too. So I'll have some more blocks

Here's an up close look at them.

And, I'm so proud of myself, all the fabric was from my stash! Well, except for the Kona Snow. I had to go to the LQS to get some of that. Most of the fabric is Flea Market Fancy by Denyse Schmidt. Except for the red, that's Building Blocks by American Jane.

Remember that wonderful chocolate bar that I received? Well, there is a little spot of chocolate on the back of one of my Kona Snow squares! I was going to try to get it off, and then I thought, nah! When I see it, it will remind me of the wonderful chocolate bar that I received from the wonderful Rebecca.

I love, love, love your blocks. I have some of those fabrics, and my fingers now itch to make one like yours too!

I wish I was closer... I'd offer to help you sew some of those bags. Oh... and I love the choco stain you kept on your quilt. I love that!

I sewing along with Mimi too! But I'm still cutting out my blocks. Just cutting...more...and more...and more blocks. Because I get obsessive that way-I can't decide which fabrics I want to use! lol! I've got enough to make several at this point, though, so I think I will also make one for Ethan's teacher who is having a baby this summer. That's the LEAST she deserves from me!

Hi there! Love your blocks! I just got here for the first time via the Dustpan Alley blog, and I almost fell out of my chair because your blocks have one of my favorite fabrics in them--one that I have a picture of on my blog post *today*. No joke! How's that for weird?

Love the fabric choices!

Do you give most of your quilts away or use them in your house?

Those fabrics are great! I have the building blocks in green and just can't seem to cut it. oh, well, I'll just have to wait for the perfect project. Your quilt is just darling. :)

Michelle - I usually have that cutting problem, too. But this red just SCREAMED to be those other fabrics, and I only had to cut off a 2 1/2 inch strip.

That turned out really cute. I didn't sew along with Mimi, but I might have to go and do her quilt later. Ya know, after the other 500 bazillion projects. :)

I love you fabric selections! It looks so cute. Love Monica's pattern as well, haven't started mine, need to get my quilt done. So you bought some Summer in the City huh? Is it not the greatest?

Oh so pretty! Yep, sew it together just so. I love charm quilts (isn't that what they're called) and think this would make a fabulous American Girl doll quilt.
