The Vera Bradley Travel Organizer is really cute. I think I need to travel more to get good use out of it! Anna also sent me chocolate (always appreciated), some cute Mary Engelbreit notecards, and a very sweet note. Thanks Anna!
I spent a lot of time this weekend sewing. Much to the consternation of my youngest child. She didn't mind that I was sewing - she minded that I wasn't sewing her Halloween costume! The thought of which (sewing that costume) scares the heck out of me! Me and costume sewing don't have a good track record. In fact, my track record is so bad that my middle child said, "Mom, why did you agree to sew her costume? You shouldn't have." Now, I have to admit, part of the reason for having so many issues in costume sewing is that I generally wait until the last minute to make them. Last. minute. As in October 29 or later. I'm NOT going to do that this time. Really. I'm not.
Here's a sneak peek at was I was working on this weekend.
I hope to get it mostly finished today or tomorrow. Then I'm going to start working on that costume. Yes, yes, I am.

Congrats on your win Michelle! So apparently Anna WASN'T making a caterpiller eh? I'm really loving the colors in your quilt!
Well aren't you the lucky lady! LOVE the 1974 fabric but have not splurged and bought it yet.
You are seriously very lucky!! Anna's things are so nice.
oh man! i love this 1974 line of fabric!
Yipee! I'm so glad your stuff made it and that you liked it. And would you like us to periodically nag you about the costume LOL????
congrats michelle...nice package! love the colors in this quilt...can't wait to see more.
What fun winnings. I love the colors in your sneak peak quilt.
Looks like you're working on a great quilt--I'm afraid it would have gotten my attention over a Halloween costume too. Unless a person was making a quilt as part of a Halloween costume... I PUNTED on the Halloween costume AGAIN this year. Yesterday two tidy packets arrived from American Girl. One contained Kit's hat (I might have knitted a reasonable facsimile...). One contained Kit's skirt (um, 30s fabric and some pleats? how hard could that be?). Lazy, lazy, lazy. The hat was a cost-benefit analysis though. No way to guarantee good hat knitting results. As it stand, though, Kit's hat is a tad tight..
Oh I can't wait to see what you're making! I love how all of those fabrics are looking! x
I like your weekend project. it's lovely. and lucky you for winning Anna's prize.
Lucky you on the win! What a score!
Can't wait to see the rest of your peek... love those fabrics (no surprise... I ALWAYS love your fabric pics!).
Thanks for visiting my blog today! I can't wait to see what your final "1974" product looks like. I just finished a mini quilt from charm pack from that line and I LOVE it. I also really liked what you made with the Flutterby packs a few posts back. I've also got 2 of those charm packs waiting for me to decide what to do with them. I think we have the same tastes in fabric lines!!
Michelle, Your fabric selection results in some quilts that are really fun to look at. I enjoy the brightness and fun of your efforts.
Looks like the mailman was good to you this week too! Congrats on your win!
