Seriously? I really didn't think it would be this big. Yes, I had the measurements, but still. I couldn't even hang it up the right way, which would have been this way.

I must say. I do love it. I can hardly wait to get it quilted.
And my love affair with 9 patches? It has not diminished. This is what's on my design wall.

I started with the patches on the left, but then saw Tonya's tiny patches. It was love. I had to make mine smaller. I'm not sure how big Tonya's are, but mine are three inches finished.
And did you see this quilt? Oh yeah, baby. You can bet that I immediately ordered some Kaffe Fassett fabric and went out and got the book that has this pattern in it (I had just received a 40% off coupon from Borders - it was kismet). I can hardly wait to get started.
Of course, I'll get started on those other projects after I've finished the 192 half square triangles that I need to make for Judy.

Oh Michelle! Your nine-patch quilt is so pretty! Such pretty colors--so soft! I love it. I love the one you started in the greens and blues, too...love, love, love those fabrics. Thanks for the eye candy this morning!
Classic, simple 9-patch...love it! And the design wall - definitely looks like a fun project :)
That looks sooo good! I don't think you should let my bad experience keep you from doing the Blooming 9. :-)
Happy sewing!
awesome! nice job! I love the blue green combo you have started. I have a circle one in the works to, which I started a LONG time ago.. maybe this will be the year to finish it!
itty bitty patches! very cute. busy lady!
Love the new 9-patch. I can't wait to see it finished too. What will the backing be?
ANdi :-)
I know it took a long time but this quilt is quite worth it. What a beautiful nine-patch. I made three of them in a row once and it has taken about 5 years to get over it but it may be time to break out the nine-patch again. It is certainly one of my favorites. You should be very proud of this one.
Seriously, what took you so long?? I am kidding. Honestly it seems like you just started it. It is beautiful! Very fresh and spring-y. LOVING the blue/green things happening on your design wall too. I think a person could spend a lifetime exploring the possibilities of the Leafy Rosy quilt. I feel kind of meh about the one I made...maybe it's time to re-examine and re-do.
this is stunning! love it.
Oh it's spectacular. Just perfect. And I love your tiny nine-patches also. And those circular blocks - I have to make some. Have to. Wow.
I just love how this one turned out. You should be very happy with it!!
That is so pretty. LOL yes I know the feeling with these quick "it wont take a minute" projects. :-)
Yes Kaffe Fassett has a wonderful eye for colours which just simply work well together. sigh -I wanna be like that.
Love the nine patch blocks quilt.
Yeah for the nine patch
I love your nine patch too. The colors are so cheerful. Great for spring.
Congrats on your win from Quilt Taffy. Cute fabrics.
Michelle, the 9 patch quilt is just lovely. After seeing your colors I just might start another 9 patch quilt.
Your nine-patch is gorgeous! I love the white background - such a calming accompaniment to all the beautiful spring-y colours.
Your 9 patch is so gorgeous! I love it... it makes me want to sew up a quilt.
That's one big beauty of a quilt Michelle. I LOVE it! And actually, without the pretty sashing, it would look a lot like that Kaffe quilt you linked to!
Hia Michelle the sock yarn was from:

Beautiful! I also love 9-patches. The colors are so nice.
Oh Michelle! Your 9-patch quilt is so pretty! (Wait a second... I just noticed on the left that Lisa told you the same thing!). And now as I'm reading through her comment... she wrote everything else I was going to say too! So ditto Lisa! xoxo-m
Hia again Michelle. I've just tagged you. I hope you don't mind.

Gorgeous work!
This is looking great!
Gorgeous quilt top - such pretty fabrics - 9 patch always looks effective.
It turned out lovely. Just lovely. The new project looks even cuter! I love the circle with the squares.
cute top- you did a great job. the blocks in my post are 5" or maybe a smidge smaller. I love the combination of blocks on your design wall - they look great together.
Love your 9 patch quilt, very cheerful! And I have made the Kaffe Fassett quilt you are thinking about - love that pattern. Thank you for your nice comment on my blog ; )
oh. my. word.
i LOVE LOVE LOVE your 9 patch quilt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
seriously, i'm debating whether to go to sleep tonight or start making more 9 patches instead. now after seeing yours, i'm hesitant to use just reds whites and aquas. i just love the scrappy look! what do you think???
Michelle,
What a lovely 9 patch quilt. Love the scrappy border. Nice green and blue blocks.
~Millie~
Love the nine patch! Isn't it funny how some quilts turn out as big as a circus tent? I never see it coming, and am always so surprised. And then when I figure out how much it will cost to have it quilted.....
Hi Michelle,
Oh My! Your quilt is gorgeous! Love all of the bright and cheery colors. And the blue and green one you've started looks like a stunner, as well.

You 9 patch is quite eye catching!
This is a rather old post, but I just found you. I love that 9-patch, and of course I'm doing Amanda Jean's quilt along right now. I can't believe how different the blocks seem after layout and sashing! Your finished quilt looks wonderful.
Love your nine patch. The border is a lovely idea.
this is beautiful! And great motivation for me to get the rest of my nine patch blocks sewed and into a quilt top!
Lots of great projects going on here at your blog Michelle but I really had to stop and say I LOVE the inner border on this nine patch. So fun and happy! :-)
